AB7000C Are Start and End Characters Redundantly Defined?

This is my first Anybus product (but not first time using a gateway).

I’m going to use an STX for the start character and ETX for the end character in a Consume transaction (using Generic Data Model mode).
My question is, since the ‘Subnetwork’ configuration already lets one specify these two characters, is it also necessary to specify them when building the transaction packet?

No, they only need to be defined in one place or the other or they will be redundant.
