AB7649-F Mapping registers

@anonijwnkdfs
Q: We are using an AB7649-F. It will be a single Ethernet/IP connection but we want to talk to several Profinet devices. Using X-Gateway managers, how can we assign different Profinet bytes to different Ethernet/IP registers?

A: The AB7649 is a slave to slave adapter, so you will need a ProfiNET master and an Ethernet/IP scanner where you will map the registers. If you are using a Siemens controller and TIA Portal, for example, you will do the mapping using the Siemens software. If you are using an Allen Bradley PLC for Eth/IP you will use the Studio or RSLogix software to map the registers on that side. If you do not have a controller/scanner on the Eth/IP side, than you are going to want to use a different gateway. The AB7670 is an Ethernet/IP Scanner to Profinet-IO device where you configure the Scan List using it’s built-in web interface.

Here are the documentation pages for both devices. If you have more questions, please let me know what devices you are connecting so I can understand the case better.
