Thank you for your patience with this issue, my colleagues were on holiday yesterday so I was not able to get any more info until today. It looks like the X gateways are different version but we were able to check the serial number of the interface cards and we confirmed they are both version 3.18. We do not think the firmware is the issue.
Can you provide more details about what error messages the ProfiNet controller is reporting?
What GSDML file are you using can you provide the version/file name.
