AB7832 & M340

hello, im triying to connect a M340 (with NOE ethernet) to a ramsey MT2000 calculator with profibus, i have a AB7832 and i"m wondering if it"s the good one, if yes how can i proceed in unity pro to do it ?

Hi @Mohammed-taha,

I’m not familiar with an M340, but is your ramsey MT2000 a Profibus master?

It also looks like there’s a large timezone difference between us, you may have an easier time creating a ticket here at: https://mysupport.hms.se to work with the local support team in your area.

hello @Tim_hms ,
my MT2000 is a Profibus slave, it’s an old weight integrator, my configuration will be like this : M340/BMXNOCXXXX - AB7832 - MT2000, I’m pretty confused with the unity pro configuration, i added the ESD file of the AB7832 to the program, but i dont know how to do with the GSD files that i have to use

Hi Mohammad,

Is there a Profibus Master somewhere on the network? Our device is also a slave on the Profibus side and I don’t believe there’s a way to do slave to slave communication with Profibus.

In this case if you need our device to be the Profibus master, you might be looking for the Anybus AB7800: Anybus AB7800

hello
http://www.he-gmbh.info/media/pdf/1912975_pbus__3105.pdf , here is the MT2000 document, i think it’s a Profibus slave, i have both the AB7800 & AB 7832, there is any document that explain how to combine the M340 to the HMS device to make the communication ok

It doesn’t look like we have anything specifically for setting it up with an M340, but there are some application note examples on setting up this device on that page I linked that you can use as a reference. I believe you’ll need to use the nettool software on that page to setup the profibus master side of the AB7800.

hello thanks

You’re welcome, let me know if you have more questions
