AB9006 IP Address setting

@anonvbwtjgfi
Hi Matt,

You can download the HMS IPconfig utility from this page under the Software section:

https://www.anybus.com/support/file-doc-downloads/x-gateway-modbus-tcp-specific/?orderCode=ab9006

Usually if the IP address is reverting to 0.0.0.0 there is an IP conflict on the network. Please let me know if you continue to have issues with it.

Hi Kyle,

I managed to get an IP address for the EthernetIP and can ping it from the main computer however, it does not seem to want to communicate with the studio 5000 configuration manager. I cannot get to the web page either from the Ethernet port. I can only get there through the Modbus port.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Matt

Hi Matt,

You need to import the EDS file in Studio 5000 first and then add the AB9006 as an Ethernet module. The web interface is only accessible through the Modbus TCP port. You can find the EDS file and the User manual here:

Hi Kyle,

I have an additional question. I was able to get the module added with that eds file. Now trying to get the proper data. I have 4 modus transactions that take up 24 bytes total and I have the plc set up to read them as SINTs but I just get 24sints with my Modbus data of 4 elements broken up into 4 sints.

If you could help me through this it would be great.

Thanks,

Matt

You will need to give me much more information for me to be able to help starting with what the 4 Modbus transactions are. I’m assuming they are reads and you are expecting maybe 6 bytes for each? If you are only putting 4 elements it is only going to read 4 and you are only going to get 4 bytes.

Feel free to include screen shots or whatever you think will help clarify.

Hi Matt, are you still having trouble or can I close this case?
