ABC3007 Mitsubishi serial to scada

Hi,

I have been attempting to connect Mitsubishi A series plc on serial to an Anybus ABC communicator.

I can get serial transactions to work but don’t seem to be able to achieve Ethernet comms(led flashing)

I am using kepserver to retrieve the data & link to scada (intouch)

Just can seem to get any Ethernet comms.
I can ping the anybus unit from the scada & I can go online to it.

Is there a key step I am missing?

Thanks in advance.

Does Kepserver have an Ethernet/IP driver (this is not the same as TCP/IP)?

As you can see from the ABC3007 Documentation, it is an Ethernet/IP Adapter on the fieldbus side.

If so, are you able to import the EDS file from the Communicator (see page 86 in the User Manual)?

In kepware we have the Mitsubishi driver kit.
This will cater for serial, Ethernet & others.

So I should be able to export eds file from the communicator & import into kepware?

I will give that a try this morning.

I will update.

This does not sound like an Ethernet/IP driver. I think you are confusing Ethernet TCP/IP with Ethernet/IP (CIP). It’s easy to be confused due to the unfortunate naming of the protocol.

I don’t know. If Kepware can be an Ethernet/IP Scanner (master), I would expect that it’s possible, but I am not an expert on Kepware. You should probably refer to their documentation, or ask Kepware directly.

Other options if you can’t use Ethernet/IP:

  1. If Modbus TCP is supported, you could use the Modbus TCP version of the Communicator, ABC3028.
  2. I’m pretty sure that OPC UA is supported, so you could use the the AB7079.
