Bridging the tap adapter with VM

Hi There,
I have issues bridging Tap adapter to VM. I have an HMI connected to the cosy 131 Wi-Fi and Cosy is connected to the VPN.
I can ping the HMI when I am on the host but as soon as I go the VM and bridge the tap adapter, I can no longer ping the HMI.
I tried different things. one of the things i did was installing the Tap driver in the VM and gave it the same ip address as on host and then disable the driver on the host. That did not work.

Any suggestions on why that is happening.

It would help to know what hypervisor you’re using and on what host, but if it’s VMWare, we had one customer get it working and he explains it here:

That is how it is going to work at least it work for me VM ware network setting first card select as Bridge: Connected directly to the physical network and also select the sub menu Replicate physical network connection state and in configuration select TAP -Window Adapter V9. Second card select option no 2 NAT: used to share the host IP address. [1] [2] Good luck

Thanks for the response. Yes, I’m using VMware and when ill go online with Ewon cosy the next time, ill try the suggested solution. For the time being, I installed everything( eCATCHER, driver) on the VM and it works fine.
