We have a customer with a CD in the field on cellular. They have it configured to send an email every day at noon letting them know it’s still online. They’re getting that email daily but it’s not online in eCatcher.
Can an eWON unit that is not connected to the VPN and online in eCatcher still successfully send an email out via the Talk2M email relay server?
Yes, this is possible.
When it’s online in eCatcher then that means the eWON is able to establish a VPN connection using UDP port 1194 or TCP port 443, however sending an email does not require using these ports or making a VPN tunnel.
Note: Your device will need to have been previously registered in Talk2M for the relay to work
