I am remote from my eWON, it is in Canada and I am in New York, can I still update the LAN IP of my eWON? If so, do I have to use a software or manually edit configuration files?
Yes, you can change the LAN IP of your eWON cosy remotely if needed.
There are a couple different ways to change the Cosy’s LAN IP remotely (see below).
Option 1 (Recommended)
• Connect to your device using e-catcher
• Open the web interface of the device
• Go to settings then Maintenance
• In global configuration, click the show advanced options box
• Edit the LAN configuration and then click save
• Reboot the device by clicking the reboot button at the top of that same page
Option 2 - Least Recommended (If you are using an outdated firmware then you may have to use this method)
• Connect to your device using e-catcher
• Open the web interface of the device
• Go to settings then Maintenance
• In global configuration, click the show advanced options box
• Click Edit Com Configuration
• Find the Parameter “EthIP” (Parameter “EthMask” is used for the LAN’s subnet mask)
• Double click the value to edit the parameter (remember to click save after editing)
• Reboot the device using the button in the maintenance section of the web interface
