Communication Help With AB7013-C

Good Afternoon,

I have a AB7013-C connected to a siemens 1517F-3 PLC over profinet. The problem I am having is I cant see the module in IP Config (V4.1.0.0). I have manually added a rule in windows firewall settings to allow all ports already and still have nothing. Wireshark is showing no data at all to the module, at first I thought the module may be faulty but i have tried the other two we have on the shop floor and I’m having the same problem.

Has anyone come across this before?

Hello @Morgan_Automation,

I am not sure why IPconfig isn’t finding the device, does it work if you disable the firewall? In any case you should not need to use IP config with a Profinet device. I would recommend you set the device up using TIA portal and assign a device name then an address to that. You will need to do this anyways to setup the device.

I have tried the Tia Portal route but its not displaying an as an accessible node in there either, cant even see a Mac address.

Have you downloaded a configuration with ACM yet? without one the device will not start and will not show up on the network.

Sorry I used the acronym with out thinking. ACM is Anybus Configuration Manager. It is available via the files and documents pages for any of the devices that use it. https://www.anybus.com/support/file-doc-downloads/communicator-specific/?ordercode=AB7013

You will need to connect via the serial programming cable to the device.
