Control/Status Word and Live List for Omron PLC

#1

@anonilkqhfxd
Hi Thad,

The Control/Status word is going to depend on the PLC. I forgot to get the model number from you. Do you know what it is or have a link to the documentation?

The Live List provides the active status of the slaves associated with an on-board network interface acting as master. It is only an option in a gateway with a master/slave configuration though, so this will not be relevant in your case as the AB7838 is essentially a slave/slave device.

Kyle,

Thanks for getting back with me so quickly. We will be using an Omron NX102 controller. This controller has two Ethernet/IP scanner ports. Here are the useful links to this product:

  1. NX102 Brochure: https://assets.omron.com/m/6804aea5324b88ea/original/NX1-Machine-Automation-Controller-Product-Brochure.pdf
  2. NX102 Datasheet: https://assets.omron.com/m/2002d1be4a4f57ba/original/NX1-Machine-Automation-Controller-Datasheet.pdf
  3. NX102 Ethernet/IP Manual: https://www.support-omron.fr/telechargements/documentations/2017-07-24%20-%2014-18-46%20-%201284780276/W506-E1-20+NJ_NX%20CPU%20Unit%20Built-in%20EtherNetIP%20Port+UserManual.pdf

I am very familiar with Omron’s Ethernet/IP implementation. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out and I can assist.

Thanks again for your help!

Hi Thad,

Thanks for sending those docs. I didn’t see anything about using a Control or Status word in the Manual, so you should just leave that disabled (default).

Let me know if you have any other questions and have a great weekend!

Thanks Kyle.

I was able to find this in the X-Gateway Users Manual (not in the Networking Manual). I should now be good to go.

Thanks!
