Does the ab4474 support a MRP network

Hi Rodney,

I will investigate this a bit further following our phone call and message you back here with any info i find.

Hi Rodney,

Looking at the profinet site as mentioned on the phone I found this page.
Where they state:

“MRP is the basic redundancy protocol for PROFINET and must be applied when PROFINET network ring structures are in operation. MRP is sufficient for standard real-time PROFINET communication. MRPD is needed in addition when transferring fast isochronous real-time (IRT) PROFINET control data.”

From that I feel it should be safe to say that MRP is supported in profinet and would need to be supported by the device.

In the GSDML file for this device we list on line 193: <MediaRedundancy SupportedRole=“Client”/>
This further verifies that the device supports MRP as a client.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
