EC350 not connecting over AT&T

The Netbiter EC350 operated well for remote PLC connection, and in operations mode. This is after the help from earlier call for help “Urgent: leaving USA tomorrow” . Then it stopped communicating. The following is a dump of events including what may not be relevant:

  1. Initial and replacement SIMs from AT&T are pre-paid with no known restrictions to SMS or other data services. Accounts are active and fully paid.
  2. Firmware version of initial and replacement EC350 was 2.03.03 and now 2.03.05.
  3. Account in ARGOS is MA.
  4. The EC350 functioned correctly in remote connection and MA modes for around one month until sometime after 17th Jan 2020.
  5. Factory reset did not resolve the problem.
  6. No response is transmitted for the EC350 after receiving the SMS from ARGOS to set up APN as “broadband”.
  7. APN can be set to “broadband” by direct USB or Ethernet connection t local laptop.
  8. Indicator lights show modem “green” but Uplink “red”. ARGOS only sees connection when EC350 is connected directly by ethernet cable to open internet service, not over modem.
  9. EC350 system ID 003011FA50B0 was changed for spare EC350 system ID 003011FA50AC. Not change to problem.
  10. SIM was checked by AT&T. No problem found.
  11. SIM +17247302307 was replaced with new SIM +17246517086 from AT&T. No change to problem.
  12. Log files of EC350 can be downloaded via USB or ethernet connection to local laptop.
  13. Log files show timeclock reset to 2002. Likely cause is extended disconnection from power of over 1 hour and being unable to synchronize over modem, when re-energized.
  14. Internal web pages show connection to the cell tower and a healthy signal strength.
  15. SMS sent from Argos shows successful receipt on ARGOS but connection to Argos never comes online causing Netbiter to continually power cycle.

Any help and suggestions are welcomed.

Hi Deryck,

You may recall my communications in December regarding the APN of a Netbiter EC350 with AT&T SIM installed. It was found “broadband” was the best APN and it worked successfully for a month – but
not now.

Are you aware of any changes to AT& =T services? James (Jim) Irmis is assisting on site while I am in London.

Things we have tried without success:

  • Changing the Netv=biter

  • Changing the SIM

  • Direct connection

Any help you can offer is appreciated.

Regards
