Ecatcher windows xp compatibility

HI There,

Does ecatcher stil compatible with windows XP? I have a customer doing some retrofitting and he would like to use an ewon with an old machine and old pc using windows xp.

What is the oldest OS still compatible with ecatcher?

Only windows 7 and Windows 10 are officially supported by the latest version of eCatcher (6.3.5 currently).
If you want eCatcher to work on windows XP, you may have to try an older version of eCatcher.

Hello, I have a customer in a similar situation. What is the last version of eCatcher that is compatible with Windows XP? And where could I download an older version of the eCatcher installer?

Would there be any compatibility issues with older eCatcher software and the latest Cosy 131 firmware?

Hi, was it ever determined what version of eCatcher was necessary for Windows XP? Also, where can I download old versions? I have a customer currently requesting this information.

Hello Greg,

I will need to double check with the Ewon team if we still have a version that supports XP. Updates to to talk2m might leave them all without the ability to connect.

It probably goes without saying but XP would not be recommended. It is well past EOL by Microsoft and is not secure to connect to the internet. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14223/windows-xp-end-of-support

Hello Greg,

Here is ecatcher V6.0 and 6.4. I beleive you should be able to install them in XP but i don’t have any way to test myself.

I am adding eCatcher 5.1 for potential Windows XP compatibility if version 6 does not work. Please not that Windows XP is not supported and not recommended.

Windows XP is no longer supported. However, I will update the above link to download eCatcher 5.1 if you want to try it.

UPDATE: As of 1st October 2021, it will no longer be possible to connect to Talk2M using eCatcher versions < 6.3.
