Hi
I am struggling to retrieve status from a device (FC3, address 30029).No problem getting data out if I use a modbus tool like “Modbus Poll”. When I read the manual, it seems that I should not enter a prefix at the address as it comes automatically. And since FC3 is actually intended for address area 4xxxx, I have a problem as this unit uses FC3 and address 30029). I am using AB, Studio 5000.
Any suggestions?

As you said, Function code3 (FC3 ) is only intended for 4xxxxx registers also know as holding registers. 3xxxx registers are for input registers. These are separate sets of registers. input registers are read only (fc4) while holding registers are read (FC3) and write (FC6)
