I have an Anybus Communicator AB7013-C that I am trying to download a configuration to. I have the serial Subnet connected, but do not have my PROFINET device connected (I don’t have it yet). I am able to connect to the Communicator, but cannot download my configuration. Is a connection to the Fieldbus required to download a configuration?

No, you do not need a fieldbus connection in order to download from the Anybus configuration Manger to the AB7013. How are you connected? If you don’t have a serial port on your PC, you should have a USB to serial adapter connect to the DB9 to RJ11 adapter that came with the AB7013. You’ll need to make sure you have the right driver for your USB-to-serial device.
Can you provide more detail, such as an error message or screen shots?
