Flexy as a OPC UA Client through a WAN Port

Hello,

I was just wondering if it was possible to access a OPC UA Server through the WAN Port. So the Flexy would be a client.

If it is possible, is there any documentation on it ?

Hello,

You can set up NAT1:1 with out VPN, and be able to ping the WAN port. AM-1008-00 NAT on a LAN Without VPN.pdf (443.1 KB)

Once you have the NAT1:1 set up, you can try to get the Flexy to act as the client. However, we do have any documentation to set it up through the WAN port.

Hello,

Alternatively, just selecting “Allow All” on the WAN protection should be able to perform the same function. Please be advise, it does open up the LAN interface to the whole WAN network.

Hi Kevin,
Is this a common solution for using IO server to poll data from an ethernet device connected to the WAN port of the Flexy?
Cheers,
Tom

Hello,

I can be solution, but it is not recommended by our staff. Essentially, you are creating a security vulnerability by opening up the WAN port
