Flexy rebooting with 13.2s0

MOVED TO STAFF NOTE (24 KB)MOVED TO STAFF NOTE (177.5 KB)

I have 7 Flexy installed in a facility. All are running firmware 13.2s0. All were initially configured in my office and configured to communicate with Talk2M. They worked as expected when they were initially configured.

The Flexy have been installed on site, but they don’t yet have Internet access. Since they were installed, all 8 of them have been rebooting every few minutes. (See backup ewon.tar). I tried turning off the ntp sync in case that was the problem, but they continued to reboot. (See ewon2.tar). All of the units are behaving the same way so I don’t expect that it is hardware related. They are all wired to separate power supplies so I don’t believe that it is power related. Seems like it could be a possible problem in 13.2s0.

i have the same problem, but my ewon has internet access, sometimes he reboots continuosly; if i remove the lan cable -connected to plc- the ewon stop to reboot;
in the loog i see that the reboot is next to the timezone set :

Can you try to change the DNS server to a public DNS server like 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1 and see if that helps?

Can you also post a backup with support files? It looks like your issue may be related to the LAN.

no i can’t, because my flexy is connected to internet via the customer proxy server…

i can post a backup but without tags and basic script, due to my company restrictions, it’s ok ?

today after about 24h that ewon was powered on and worked without problems, he start to reboot continuosly and is inaccessible via wan and lan; i removed the lan cable that connect ewon to the plc and ewon stop rebootting…
i reconnect the lan cable to the plc and ewon don’t reboot…

@iw3bti1

Sorry I am a little mixed up by the original posts, I’m not sure who they are from… so disregard what I wrote before as it related to their backup files.

One thing I noticed in your logs, there is an authentication problem with OPC UA, is this supposed to be running?

Is there BASIC code running? If you stop it, does it still reboot?

Are we just talking about one device or are there multiple?

the authentication problem are ok because i’ve changed the password and uaexpert still continue to try to connect with old one; the problem appears in other situation without opc-ua authentication problems.

the BASIC code is running, but i’cant stop because when this problem appear, i can’t login in the ewon webserver… it seem to be offline, no ping answer from lan or wan interfaces;
unfortunately the ONLY way is disconnect the lan cable from ewon to plc; with the cable disconnected, ewon stop rebooting and the ping answer is ok.

currently i have this problem on one device only (it’s a new project, 700 plc tags + datamailbox + opcua server + nat1:1 + ntp server), but if i use this configuration on another ewon i have the same problem

There must be a problem with the BASIC code, but without seeing it we cannot determine exactly what it is. Do you have code running in the cyclic section, by any chance?

If you can’t connect through the LAN to turn off BASIC, can you connect through the eCatcher VPN? If not, you may need to wipe the device and then reload making sure BASIC code is not set to ‘Autorun’.

when the problem appear, the ewon is not online in the t2m (lan & wan interface are not responding); the only way is to disconnect the lan cable from ewon to plc; at this moment ewon stop rebooting and lan&wan interface answer to ping request and the ewon is online in talk2m

the basic script is very easy, and is setted in autorun of course…

i have an onchange event that enable topic B and topic C when at startup the plc has finished the first cycle.
i have 4 onchange events that assign the value of 4 s7-300 tag in 4 mem tag, and an onchange that do a loggroup to log with the same timestamp all the tag in the group D (about 200 tags)

Like you said, we can fairly confidently rule out a hardware or power issue, so we are left with the configuration and need to narrow that down.

Please disconnect the LAN cable so that it stops power cycling and you can connect through eCatcher. Log in and go to BASIC IDE. Uncheck AutoRun (in Menu under Run), stop the BASIC Script, plug LAN cable back in. Does it start rebooting again?

If yes, please repeat that process except for the OPC UA Server. Stop the server and see if when you plug LAN back in the device starts rebooting again or not.

Next, go through the I/O servers. We need to narrow down what part of your configuration is causing this problem.

Thank you,

Kyle

If i disconnect the lan cable, wait 5 seconds,reconnect the lan cable, all the services are ok: script run,opcua server is up, t2m online, nat1:1 ok.

All services ok without and sw change, only disconnect lan,wait 5 second, reconnect lan.

It run ok for about 30hours, and then randomly the problem come back…

ok , this morning the problem is happened, so

  1. i disconnected the LAN
  2. ewon stop rebooting
  3. i disabled the autorun
  4. i reconnect the lan cable

now i need to wait if the problem appears another time…

this time in the log i found an event ID without description
18/02/2019 10:39:41 25110

ok today at the 13.29 the ewon reboot again but…
with the autorun unchecked , ewon has booted without problems !
here my script (with some tag name changed)

program.bas (2.6 KB)

Looking at your code, there are a couple dozen lines in the Cyclic section. Can you rewrite this part so that it works in another section, either Init or another? It’s possible that having this code repeating thousands of times every second (because it’s in the Cyclic section) may be stressing the device resources and causing the reboots.

i’m sorry but I don’t understand what i need to rewrite, my cyclic section is empty…

My mistake- You’re right. I was looking at the wrong program. I think I’m going to have to arrange a time where I can get access to the device to figure out what’s causing this problem. Nothing in the logs is especially helpful for this one. Let me know if you want to supply a temp eCatcher account or do a Teamviewer session.

Thanks,
Kyle

ok for teamviewer,
please tell me how we can proceding
