Force TCP reverts back to UDP

Hello,

We’ve got a customer that wants to force a TCP connection at all times on some of their eWONs. Apparently a few of these units have automatically reverted back to UDP. Is there a setting or parameter that needs to be adjusted to force TCP at all times, even after a power cycle?

Thank you.

Hi,

They can either while running the talk2m wizard choose the advance perimeter and select Force TCP Connection, edit the COM cfg file and change VPNPORTOUT = 443 and VPNProto = 1, or if they have a flexy they can go tot eh global settings for the VPN connection and update Port Out out to be 443 and VPN Protocol to TCP .

Here is a link to are forum post describing the choices. Is there anyway to force an eWON to use TCP?

Zach,

Thank you for your response. We are aware of how to force TCP, but the customer has reported that it seems a few of their devices may have converted back to UDP even after selecting these settings? We are wondering how to prevent this switch from TCP to UDP from happening even when the unit is forced?

Thank you.

We could take a looks at the one of the backups to see if we notice anything. With it going back to tcp it could have been from a failed wizard when trying to force tcp, settings not changed, or loading a backup that was not set for force tcp.
