Hello Slavik,
I received a the following support request from sales:
I have an HMS-EN2SE-R linking device. I am trying to configure inside a compactlogix controller and control Oriental Motors Steper Motor Drivers. I having an “invalid input size” error. I need help with getting this application started and configured.

When you are seeing this error with a linking device this typically means the configuration in studio 5000 does not match the configuration on the linking device. Re-downloading the configuration to the device and make sure you apply the changes to the studio project and update the module definition. This should clear up this error.

Here is an example I did that walks though setting up modbus data.

Modbus setup with communicator

You will want to configure the serial side of the device before you can get data on the plc since the IO size is set based on the serial transactions. I’ll go through an example of polling a register for data and then an example for writing to one. You should be able to mimic this example with some modification for your application.
