Netbiter EC310 comm settings to read Modbus/TCP Server

Hello,

I am trying to get a Netbiter EC310 to read data from a Modbus server running on a Phoenix PLC. I have set up the communications to be over Modbus/TCP, but some of the settings in Argos Cloud are not making sense to me.

First, in Device Configuration, I am required enter a Modbus Slave ID.

Next, in gateway settings, two drop down fields do not seem to have the selection I need:

  1. In the field “Physical” I have options for RS-485, RS-232, and Disabled. I hope Disabled means I am using Modbus/TCP, can you confirm?
  2. In the field “Baud rate”, the fastest communications is 115.2kbps. I need 10/100Mbps for Modbus/TCP.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hello @ApexVenture ,

Yes a slave/node ID is required. A modbus TCP device may respond to all ID. If you are not sure try 1.

The Modbus settings under gateway settings are used for modbus RTU devices and can be ignored for modbus TCP.
The ewon will automatically use the ethernet LAN port if an IP address is configured for the device. Make sure the LAN IP is configured for the same subnet as the modbus Server.

Deryck
