Question on X-gateway

Hi ,
I have a few question on the X-gateway requested from by client.
Below are the question:
1.Can the X-gateways support multiple PLCs via a Switch?
For example,

  1. Can the X-gateway support redundant CPUs in PLC? And how it communicates if it’s a bus protocol on one side.

  2. Is there a watchdog bit within our gateway to detect a communication breakdown in either side ?

Hello Alvin,

  1. This depends mostly on the protocol being used. I believe the Ethernet/IP slave can support multiple connections but it needs to be set up in a specific way. I would need to check with Sweden to know for sure.

  2. There is support for redundant PLC’s on ethernet/IP I am not sure about the other devices. I recommend making a ticket support ticket in System tool for more info.

  3. Yes you can set up the Live list and or control status word to get info on the transactions and the opposing network interface respectively.
