Set up Anybus Gateway AB7632-F

Good Morning

We want to communicate PLC With a HMI through Anybus gateway. But the communication is not working between HMI and Gateway. Please, could you help to configure the Anybus Gateway. Thank you.

PLC Allen-Bradley Compact GuardLogix 5380 (Ethernet Communication)

ProFace HMI LT3300-T1-D24-C (Modbus TCP Communication)

From the excel sheet, it looks like you need to get the bit values from 3 registers. However, the AB7632 is a Modbus TCP Server (slave), so the HMI will need the capability to act as the client (or master) and write the values to the Anybus. Are you sure the HMI has this capability?

If so, the configuration is extremely simple for the Anybus. You are essentially just configuring the IO size and a couple other options in the Anybus Configuration Manger X-Gateway. The transactions are all configured on the HMI (client/master).

From provider, they said, HMI is set up as Master. Do you have any example with the same devices that work? (ProFace HMI Modbus TCP with Anybus Gategay AB7632)

Do you have a tool(app) can we use to see Modbus TCP communication between Gateway(slave) and the Modbus TCP (master)?

There isn’t an example for that specific device, because all you are setting up in the Anybus is the I/O size. These are literally all of the settings, other than setting the IP address:

As long as you have a Modbus TCP Master, it will work because it’s a standardized protocol. You will have to set up the transactions in the HMI (master) and if you have questions about the addressing or function codes, refer to this section of the manual.
