Setting up an EN2PB-R

Hi James,

Let me know if you find out if there’s an issue with the wiring or if you think it may be something else.

The new firmware for the device can also be found here:
https://www.anybus.com/support/file-doc-downloads/linking-devices-specific/?ordercode=HMS-EN2PB-R

Thanks,
-Tim

#4

Hi James,

When you scan on the Profibus network do you have anything auto-populating now?

#5

Good morning Tim

Happy Friday!

I still cannot find any device through Scan.

Does this mean output – Profibus side?

#6

Hi James,

It seems like theres some kind of mismatch between the PLC and the linking device. This could be connection points or some kind of difference in configuration between the two of them.

#7

Good morning Tim

How are you today?

So, you think there may be some wrong settings between Rockwell PLC and Anybus device. This should be the first thing I need to solve.

Thanks!

Sincerely,

James Sun

Hi James,

I’m doing well today how are you?

But from what we saw with that error we think that is the case. Let me know what you find out though

Thanks,
-Tim

Good morning Tim

I sent you a video last Friday about this unit.

If I need to send again, please feel free to let me know.

There are MS EN – flashing Green – No configured (how can I configure? From Rockwell Studio 5000 side?)

NS – flashing Green – Online, no connection (No Ethernet/IP or Profibus?)

             Link 1 – Flashing Green – 100 Mbit (OK)

MS PB – OFF – Master is offline (Profibus Master?)

DB – Green – Database OK

CS – OFF – No data Exchange

TH – OFF – Another Station holds the Token (remote Siemens slave?)

Do you any suggestion and/or info can help me to troubleshooting this situation?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks!

Sincerely,

James Sun

If the issue is that it’s not configured then I’d say maybe try and go through pages 14-20 of this doc:

Are you online in studio 5000 because it looks like that MS Led could also mean that the device is idle

#12

Hi Tim

I was online in Studio 5000 when I took that video.

I can ping the IP, 192.168.1.35, but the connection status in Studio 5000 was faulted.

I did follow the step in the user manual (from P15-20).

But, I must miss something, because it is not working

What’s the revision I should pick?

Does it need to match the firmware in the device?

Does “Not configuration” include the setting of Slave side?

The Profibus address at slave side is set to “64” by DIP switch. How can I set the Master to “1”?

Attached the screen shots of configuration I saved, hope you can find something wrong.

Thanks!

Sincerely,

James Sun

#13

Hi Tim

After I finished the configuration, should I click download to the device?

It’s not on-line configure, is it?

#14

Hi James,

I don’t think that there’s an issue with the revision as long as you used the EDS file that belonged to the EN2PB-R. Could you try and give us a call again at 312-893-5636 when you’re available and we can try to take another look at this one?

#16

Hi Tim

How are you today?

My Anybus is talking to Siemens DP-DP coupler without any issue.

I just have two questions about the Internal.Control.0.

It’s a 16-bits integer, we only use bit_0.

What is this bit_0 doing?

What are the functions of the other 15 bits?

Thanks!

Sincerely,

James Sun

#18

Hi James,
