Talk2M proxy

When I log into m2Web and then click on the button labeled eWon to go to the web interface of the unit the web address is different than that of what the button has.

The button has the following address.
https://us4.m2web.talk2m.com/Sweeneysr01043/SR01043

The web page that is loaded has the following address.
https://odelnp05kyjrh9xmywavdb90m1wqj3.proxy-us4.m2web.talk2m.com/index.shtm#home

When did this change?

Any word on why these are going through the proxy address???

This seems to have changed over the weekend. R & D is looking into it but the work around for the time being is to type /switchproxy after login on M2Web. So for you after login you should enter
https://us4.m2web.talk2m.com/Sweeneysr01043/switchproxy then press enter. then when you load your other web pages it should not be showing the proxy address.

Still no fix for this beside the switchproxy?

Belgium has says it is resolved now. Are you have trouble accessing any of your pages using m2web?

Nope still does it.

Cleared cache, cookies and auto fill then tried it. Still redirects through https://rvlpnm0kl7dyhpevl6a13s52x16yg8.proxy-us4.m2web.talk2m.com/index.shtm#home

Yes it is using the proxy which is now the default. Are you not able to access the page because of it?

So the crazy address is now the norm?

Hi Ted,

The new URLs are here to stay. What they do is encode the /accountname/ewon/landevice/ into the url. This is designed to resolve issue where the base url in m2web needs to be changed. I expect this to fix issues with HMI’s like some Rockwell ones.

I just had to use the switchproxy workaround again. Same customer but different end user site / different Ewon and account.

Worth noting, I believe the last time we had this problem myself and multiple customers for that account had the same issue. In this instance it worked for me from my phone but not for the customer
