Time delay while receving data from PLC to flexy

Hello,

I am Abhishek, have an issue. There is a 4-5 second delay while receiving data from a Siemens PLC to a flexy 201. The data amount is 320 bytes approximately, what could be a reason for this delay and is there a way to resolve this?

What type of Siemens PLC and what IO server are you using?

What is the poll rate?

Are you locally connected to the Ewon or connected through the VPN?

Siemens s7 -1200 plc and IO server default to data block ethernet siemens 1200
poll rate is 1s
connected locally to the ewon

How are you measuring this delay? In the web interface?

Can you provide more details on how this is affecting your project?

Hello,

So we do not measure the delay, the delay is visible. This value is approximate, the value takes a couple of seconds to change on the ewon.
The project is affected as we expect a bit lesser delay.

The product is connected locally to the ewon and the web interface is used.

There is going to be a short delay (about a second) in the web interface itself updating, so 4-5 seconds seems slow. Have you tried decreasing the poll rate to like 200ms to see if that updates faster?
