Trouble Changing Cosy LAN remtotely

I need to change the LAN IP address of a Cosy remotely. However I am unable to open the Cosy’s web pages for some reason.

I am able to connect via eCatcher, and even updated the firmware to 14.3s0. But I cannot open the webpage either via the WAN or LAN IP address.

Any suggestions?

Try this:

http://[Ewon IP Address]/index.shtm

For example: http://10.0.0.53/index.sthm

If that doesn’t work, try this:

http://[Ewon IP Address]:81

For example: http://10.0.0.53:81 or http://10.0.0.53:81/index.shtm

No such luck with either of those.

I also see that my co-worker Nick also posted on HMS.HOW about this. His was titled Ewon Cosy webpage and IP change issue.

In this case it’s probably a network issue with your PC. Are you connected to another VPN, or have another conflicting network?

Can you ping the Ewon’s VPN and LAN addresses?

While connected to the Ewon through eCatcher, please open a command prompt and type:

route print -4

Please share the results here.

I am not currently connected to another VPN.

I can ping the Ewon’s VPN and LAN address.

The routing looks fine. Maybe there is a bad setting on the Ewon.

Can you create a backup of the Ewon using eBuddy and check the box “Include Support Files”? You can post it here.

I tried the backup multiple times (both with and without support files).

Can you guys give us access to this Ewon, either by creating us a temp T2M account or access through Teamviewer?

Hello,

We’ve got an Ewon that is currently on the 192.168.1.xxx network, needing to change it to the 192.168.2.xxx network. When connecting to this unit through our company network (which is also on 192.168.1.xxx) remotely using Ecatcher, Ecatcher tells us we are connected, we can ping the IP address, but not open the webpage. When connecting my laptop through the hotspot on my phone, Ecatcher tells us we are connected, but cannot ping or bring up webpage. My guess for why we can ping on the company network is because we are actually pinging a local device on our network, not the remote Ewon.

What should we try to do to get the Ewon working correctly? We were able to remotely successfully upgrade the firmware from v13.something to 14.3. Ecatcher is the most up to date version, and we have tried multiple computers. We have stripped away all of the LAN settings from the Ewon inside of Ecatcher so it is just a straight up connection with no fancy parameters added on. It is weird that we were allegedly able to upgrade the firmware, but cannot do anything else.

Yes, I can setup a temp account. Where should I send the login credentials so they are not posted on the forum?

You can post them here. They won’t be shown publicly.

Thanks, I’ll log in and take a look now.

Hi guys,

I’ve been looking at this for a while and can’t see any issues with the settings, it just seems that the packets are getting corrupted in transmission:

What type of connection is this? Cellular?

Where is the SIM card from and is there anything special about the service plan?

WiFi not cellular.

So are you able to view the webpages? Because I couldn’t even do that….which is what I need to change the LAN IP address.

No. I cannot open the web pages. I was able to download a file with the configs, but that’s it. Unless you can get someone on site to connect a laptop to it, you may need to send a new Ewon to the site and have that one sent back to determine if it’s a problem with the Ewon or with the internet connection. There isn’t much we can do without having remote access to it.
