Using LAN for internet

Dear ewon support,

Questions about your ewon product:

We are using your ewon cosy 131, and following is our scenario:

We want to connect ewon to the internet via ewon’s lan port ( not via ewon’s wan port, wan port will not be used), is it possible ? if yes, then how to config ?

( ewon lan port is connected to our switch or router )

Hi Howard,

This is not possible to do. Internet can only be configured using a WAN connection.

Thanks for the quick response.

Our equipment has open ports and also requires the ability to connect to the internet. Does eWON have a product (other than cosy 131) or a recommendation that provides a remote VPN connection but does NOT provide the routing function that would disable access to open ports and LAN internet access?

Hello Howard,

You are able to allow devices on the LAN to reach the internet through a Cosy131. Keep in mind by doing this you are taking away the security features in the Cosy that stop all WAN to LAN and LAN to WAN traffic. By default only VPN traffic is permitted.
