WAN Network Address same as LAN Network Address

I have a customer that has existing Cosy’s installed and they would like to be able to have the WAN Network address (192,168.1.x) the same as the LAN network address(192.168.1.x). Is there a way that this can be done within the Cosy or Flexy?

It is not possible for the LAN and WAN subnets to overlap within a Cosy or Flexy. This is because the Ewon uses the subnets to route network traffic to the right interface, so if they were overlapping, it would not know if an IP like 192.168.1.10 is accessed through the WAN connection or one of the LAN ports.

As a workaround, it is possible to use a spare network switch or router as an intermediary device, where the switch is connected to the site network with an IP on 192.168.1.x and connected to the Ewon’s WAN port with an IP on a different subnet. But if at all possible, we recommend changing either the machine network or the site network so that they do not overlap.
