AB7007-C VS AB7072 Ethernet/IP to ASCII

Hello,

We have been using the AB7007-C to send ascii data to zebra printers. Our supplier is now recommending we use the AB7072. I’ve noticed that the AB7072 has two ethernet ports (acts as a two port switch). Is that the only difference? Can the configuration files created in the past for the AB7007-C be uploaded to the AB7072 with no problems? I want to avoid reinventing the wheel.

Thanks!

Hello @mjv,

Yes the ab7007 and the ab7072 are nearly identical. Key change would be the additional rj45 port. It also uses a different eds for ethernet/IP so this would need to be updated on the Ethernet/IP scanner.

You can use the same configuration files but you will need to update the field bus side to the 2 port ethernet option over the single port.
