AB7629-F Profibus Acyclic data to ModbusTCP

Hi,

I’m using the AB7629-F PROFIBUS Master – Modbus TCP Server to interface a Profibus slave to a PC in a testing lab.

I’ve been able to access the acyclic data through the DPV1 tab on the online slave properties window of the NetTool, but I can’t figure out how to access this same data using the Modbus registers.

I’ve had no problem reading the cyclic data over Modbus, but it’s the DPV1 acyclic data that I need. Is it even possible to access the acyclic data through Modbus commands?

This gateway is an I/O device and not a transparent gateway. The Profibus master itself can support DPV1 read/write operations, but these need to be controlled by software connected to the Profibus master (CPU). You aren’t able to control this from the Modbus side, only read/write the registers in the gateway’s memory space which is shared between both sides.
