AB7652 without Profinet IO controller

Hello.

Do you need a profinet IO controller on the Profinet side of the AB7652?

I want to use this to connect a profinet Cognex camera to a Profibus CNC controller.

My worry is that there is no IO controller on the profinet side, like a controller. Do I need an IO controller, or can the AB7652 be the IO Controller?

Hi,

Yes, you will need a Profinet Master and configuration software to configure the Profinet network.

Hi,

The only thing we have for a Profinet Master is the Master Simulator, but that isn’t designed for this purpose. I will CC @us_sales to see if they have any ideas, but I think you are going to need a controller. I wish I had a better solution for you!

Sorry we don’t have a solution for this application. This would require a gateway with a Profinet Master interface and we do not have that option on any of our gateways.
