B40 Profibus DP module stops Profibus connection, won't allow a new connection

I’m running a B40 CC module doing DP-V1. Firmware V1.7.3
Connecting to my PC with a PBPro USB adapter

Initially the connection comes up fine, I can get and set data and cyclic data no problem. After a short time (minutes) the connection fails and from then on I’m unable to re-connect to the CC.
The SPI connection is continuing to run and indicates the Wait state. Once I re-init the CC I can then reconnect. I’ve tried disconnecting the PB connection, unplugging the USB adapter.
Unfortunately I don’t have a protocol analyzer to see what’s going on on the link. Any thoughts?
