CAB-IB100/PCIe Support

Hello,

I tried to find a support contact on your technical support page but got a 404 :frowning:

I’d like to find out if it’s possible to get an old installer from you (for IXXAT VCI 4.0.247.0).

We are creating a new PC for a client and trying to get the software and drivers to match an original build. We’re experiencing problems with the latest version from your website (IXXAT VCI 4.0.875.0) and would like to rule out VCI/IXXAT as the cause.

Thank you!

Best,

Mike

Hi Mike,

Our contact info is here: https://www.ixxat.com/contact

I don’t have that build of VCI V4 (4.0.247), but I can try to find it for you.

What kind of errors are you getting? Do you think it’s possible that he’s missing another driver that’s needed, like the VCI2 on VCI4 Add-On? What is the operating system and is secure boot enabled?

Thanks,

Kyle

Hi Kyle,

Thanks for the quick response. We’re getting “CAN receive frame errors” from the Maxon API library that we’re using. They’ve told use this happens when a frame is sent and no corresponding response is received.

The operating system is Windows 10 LTSC and my guess is that secure boot IS still enabled. I saw a note about this in the online documentation but didn’t think it was related because the driver seemed to install just fine and we haven’t had to mess with the BIOS before. I can try to re-install with secure boot disabled.

I’m not sure what the VCI4 Add-on is. Can you describe? The link seems to be broken.

Thank you!

Best,

Mike

Hi Mike,

The current VCI v4 should work fine with secure boot, the reason I was asking is because it’s the older one that may cause a problem. You can download it here:

The VCI2 on VCI4 Add-On can be downloaded from the VCI4 Drivers page:

https://www.ixxat.com/support/file-and-documents-download/drivers/vci-v4-driver

I would try that first, if it doesn’t work then first un-install all of the VCI drivers and then try the older driver.

Let me know how that goes.

Kyle

Awesome! Thanks. Will report back.

Hi Kyle,

I uninstalled 4.0.875.0, installed version 4.0.247.0 that you provided, and the errors are gone (confirmed on two machines). I also tested a machine with version 4.0.436.0 which also worked without errors.

Thanks for your help!

Best,

Mike

OK great! Glad that took care of it for now. I’ll close the case, but let me know if you want to look at it any closer in the future. We would need to see the code to determine the reason for the problem.
