Ecather TAP win adapter errors

I have a customer having trouble reaching an ewon
that have the Talk2m-eCather TAP Windows Adapter V9

If they have the VPN driver settings set to DHCP they get this

VPN tunnel error : TAP windows adapter ‘Talk2m-eCather’ not found

If they set it to netsh, they get this message

Vpn tunnel error: Error using --ip-win32 netsh, if you have more than one TAP windows adapter, you must specify --dev-node

After the following

  1. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\eCatcher-Talk2M\Talk2MVPNService\Drivers

  2. Right click on ’ deltapall ’ and run as administrator (windows batch file)

  3. Right click on ’ install ’ and run as administrator (windows batch file)

Received error: No Tap-win 32 adapter was found please reinstall ecather.

After reinstall still same error.
Any advice appreciated.

They need to rename the TAP adapter ‘Talk2m-eCatcher’

The adaptor is already named so.
Sorry typo in original post.

Do they have another VPN connection set up on that PC that uses OpenVPN? If so, it may be interfering with eCatcher. If not, there appears to be another issue with this PC.

These are the adaptors on the machine in question

Please have them delete the other TAP adapters, Ethernet 5 and Ethernet 6, and try again.

they have looked at trying to do that but the system won’t allow them to delete the adaptors when they are in network connections, I have tried disabling but I still get the same messages.

customer also has Open VPN Connect

You can delete the TAP adapters in the Windows Device Manager.

Are they using the OpenVPN Connect regularly? It sounds like it is not properly configured to distinguish a specific TAP adapter, which is most likely the cause of this problem. Uninstalling eCatcher and OpenVPN connect and then re-installing eCatcher should resolve the problem.
