EtherNet/IP to Serial Linking Device

I’ve read your examples but I need to talk ASCII from a 1756-l73 Contrologix String Tag to an Ink Jet Printer over Ethernet-IP-to-Serial RS-232.

It will require transmission of 100+ bytes including framing characters for the Printer done before the entire string is sent the Linking Device.

There will be a response with Framing Characters generated by the Printer that I need sent back to the PLC for parsing.

I don’t see such an example.

I basically want the Linking Device to be a pass-thru portal with suitable buffers.

Details of how??

Hello,

We do not have an example specific to your application. Chapters 7 and 8 have information on how the transactions and data frames are set up. Can you please take a look at this and let me know if you have any questions?

Best regards,
Nick
