Regarding the software issue that we discussed, the timeout is set to 1 second, it is adjustable in a config text file. I have tried at 5 seconds and then longer and it still times out.
There is another setting in there to set the slave address. This is currently slave=1. Do you think I need to change this as it is routing through the eWon?
That could be something we could try. Is there any way you can send us some screenshots of the possible settings you can apply?

Port = The virtual COM port set up to communicate
Timeout = In seconds

Are you trying to get this legacy software to connect to the COM port from eVCOM or how is it trying to read from it exactly
Yes, the software should use a virtual COM from eVCOM port to communicate
