Can I put this device into operation?
Do I need to reset first?

It’s possible you may be able to use this device, but as it’s a used device that is well past end of life, we can’t guarantee it will work properly and I would probably recommend against using it in production. It could already be registered to an account, and if it has any hardware issues it’s well outside of its warranty.
You may need to reset it if you don’t know the local login details, though this will not free up the device if it’s already registered to an account. You can read about the factory reset process in IG-0001-00 - Ewon 2005CD
It does not support the latest firmware updates. I believe the latest firmware supported for the 2005CD is 11.3, while the Ewon Flexy supports up to 14.7 now.
