EWON Cosy 131 Dropping VPN comms in China

Kevin,

Thank you very much for letting me know…I am leaning more towards the Chinese government tampering with the firewall. After my initial connection to my customer’s EWON in China, I had a window of 2-3 minutes where I was able to go online and remain online to make minor changes. However, after that brief window, EWON to PLC comms were constantly being interrupted by running slower, then briefly normal for a few moments until selecting a ladder rung to navigate the program to drag down comms, before finally being disconnected. I did check the EWON and found that the device remained connected all this time.

Currently, I am pinging the IP address of my customer’s PLC, but the successful ping rate is 25-50% at best, which suggests inconsistent, unstable comms as I write this email.

Please continue to monitor…thank you very much.

Hello,

There is not much we can do with China limiting the communication.

We do advise using TCP which can be forced in the Talk2m Wizard. I will mark this solved, but still keep it open for responses.
