In the case that we were just looking at, it ended up being that he didn’t have a cable with internet access going into the WAN port.
Another thing you could check is to plug the ethernet cable with internet access into your PC instead and then see if that’s able to get online with either the same static address that the cosy/flexy would be using or try using a dhcp address.
