Flexy 205 Reverts back to a Phantom IP after Reboot

Good morning Support,

I have two issues that may be related to each other.

This device is installed in a test environment where the power goes off frequently.

First issue: The WAN IP address keeps reverting to 10.0.0.100 GW: 10.0.0.1 on Reboot.
Whether from a power failure or commanded from eBuddy.

This effectively kills the VPN connection.

I have set the WAN IP to DHCP/STATIC using the various methods described in the Docs & KB articles.

What am I missing?
Is there another setting somewhere else?

Second Issue: The ISP for the site uses Dynamic addresses.
We have setup a DDNS service to address the issue of the changing address.
the issue is that the redirected page keeps asking for a username & Password. This dialog will not logon to the Flexy.

Please point me to relevant articles to resolve the Issue/s.

If you set a static WAN IP address, it should not change. Please send us a backup of the Flexy with the support files. (You can use eBuddy or go to Diagnostic > Files Transfer > Support Files in the web interface).

For the second issue, can you try entering the address like this?

http://bas.activedevice.org/index.shtm

Have you tried a different browser?

Good afternoon Kyle,
Attached are backups of various stages of our attempts to corral the issue.

MOVED TO STAFF NOTE (1011.5 KB)
MOVED TO STAFF NOTE (1.0 MB)
MOVED TO STAFF NOTE (863 KB)
MOVED TO STAFF NOTE (861 KB)

Thanks.

I see that you have a ViewON page. What is the setting for ‘user defined home page’?

You can manually bring up the sign in page by going to http://[IP address or domain]/index.shtm as suggested above.

I noticed that in some of the backups, the device is set to DHCP and in others it has a static address. If you want to use static, make sure to change the LAN IP, save, then reboot the gateway and check that it’s still correct. If you run the internet test and it fails it will revert to the prior settings, so skip the “Internet Check” next time.

Good day Support,
The device is no longer at the test site due to the WAN IP issues.
Before we can delve into the reason why we cannot logon to the DDNS Redirected page is mute until the IP issue is resolved.
I have changed the LAN IP to 172.16.33.xx in hopes of avoiding confusion.
I’m Going to set the WAN IP to 192.168.88.40 using the Wizard.
Attached are screen shots of the various stages of the troubleshooting process.

Internet Validation Check

This is very strange. If you have DHCP disabled for the WAN (BOOTP2), the IP addresses should not change on reboot. Would you be able to show us this over a Teams or Teamviewer call?

Please create a case at support.hms-networks.com and reference this thread so we can set something up.
