We have a customer whereby a PLC download would be very disruptive.
It is possible to add the HMS-EN2SE-R module to the I/O tree whilst online, and it creates a default 500 SINT IN 496 SINT OUT Module Defined Type.
Having achieved that, is it possible to then configure the HMS-EN2SE-R module to match the PLC I/O sizes such that a PLC download is not required?
I am not aware of an option to do this.
The only thing I can think of would be if you can setup your own connections to the linking device. This assume the PLC allows these type of online edits. This would be out side of our expertise. You would be treating the device similar to an AB9007. The CIP objects and connections can be found in the user manual. hms-scm-1202-181.pdf (anybus.com)
I would expect you need to setup the exclusive owner connection. I am not sure if this devices needs any other connections made or parameters set to exchange data the the AOP would typically be handling.
You are a bit on your own with a setup like this, it is not how the device is designed to be used.
