Modbus to BACNet IP

I have an eWON connected to a Modbus slave (Siemens PLC) and fetching all the data. Can I convert these Modbus tags into BACNet and send them to BACNet Master (Scada)?

Alternatively, I can use a gateway (Modbus to BACNet IP) to connect to the Scada without eWON.

Can you please advise?

Kind regards,

Mihir

Hello,

Would the BACNET and Modbus be on the same LAN side or with the BACNET be remote? HMS does offer gateway translators but they require hard line connection.

The Flexy itself only Polls BACNET values, you are not able to write to as the flexy is just a client in the communication.

Hi Kevin,

The setup planning is:

  1. Siemens S7-1200 PLC (Modbus RTU Slave) → eWON Flexy 202 (Modbus RTU Master)
  2. Flexy converts Modbus tags to BACNet tages
  3. eWON Flexy LAN port (BACNet IP Client) → SCADA LAN port (BACNet IP Master)

Flexy and SCADA will be on the same LAN side.

Can I use Store and Forward tags to achieve the above? Are there any limitations? Can you please suggest HMS gateway translators?

Kind regards,

Mihir

I would reach out to your local distributor for gateway translators.

We do not have any specific examples for what you are trying to achieve. So some development and testing will be required on your end. We can set this up for a service fee.
