NAT ON EWON FLEXY

Hi

Apologies i have very limited knowledge on NAT so after some advice to see if this is possible

ewon flexy 205 LAN IP address 192.168.1.75 reading tags from PLC and publishing them via OPCUA to be read by our OPCUA client - all working well.

eWON WAN IP address is 172.24.81.32 and there is a sever on 172.24.81.11 that also needs to see the OPC tags

can i use the NAT feature as described on this post NAT 1:1 on the Flexy

to map the WAN to the eWON LAN IP address to make these tags visible to the server? or am i misunderstanding the NAT feature?

If the server just needs to read the tags from the Flexy directly, you don’t need to use NAT. You can just allow the Flexy to communicate with the WAN network. To do this you need to change the setting ‘WANitProt’ in the comcfg.txt (Setup > System > Storage > Edit COM cfg) to 2 (Allow All).

You can also change the setting in the Flexy web config here:

Keep in mind that the Flexy is now reachable from the WAN (plant) network, so make sure it’s using the proper security for the circumstances (for example, strong password, OPC UA encryption if necessary, etc.)
