This might be a silly question but, is it possible to use the Profibus Master Simulator serial adapter with Siemens PDM? Or will the simulator device only work with the AnyBus simulator tool?

I’m not sure we know enough about this here in support to say for sure. It handles converting from RS232 to 485 for the profibus network, but it also communicates with the software for licensing so it might be doing something special with the messages. It is something that would need to be tested. While I have access to a dongle but not Siemens PDM.

I’ll have to give it a try… as I suspected, I think the simulator software talks to the dongle somehow, which PDM would not do.
