Setting up an AB7678, Bad Class error when connecting to the PLC on Studio 5000

@anonayfrkdzx
Hi Scott,

I’ll see what else I can find on this, but in the mean time can you give us more information on the devices that are connected to these.

Thanks,
-Tim

Hi Scott,

It looks like if you’re going to be using the EIP Scanner Master, then your PLC will need to act as an ethernetIP slave so the scanner can make a class 1 or 3 connection

Tim,

What information specifically are you looking for?

Hi Scott,

Could you tell us which type of PLC it is that we’re connecting to? Also I think I remember you saying that you thought the issue might have something to do with you switch. But were you able to confirm that your PLC could act as an Ethernet IP slave so our Scanner could make a class 3 connection?

Tim,

I was able to resolve the problem. It was not configured correctly in RSNetworx. However, I may need help with the Modbus setup I will get to that today.

Thanks

Scott Thompson

Ok let us know if you run into any issues with the setup
