Testing the MPI connection on a Cosy 141

How do you test the MPI connection on the Cosy 141?

I have a device that is connected to a S7-300 PLC via MPI. I am not getting any connectivity.

I do not have Step 5 or 7 installed.

@abrannon

What software are you trying to use? TIA?

On the webpage of the COSY if you click destination Node, do you see the PLC node?

The vendor is using Step 7 or TIA, either way he is using SIMATIC Manager.

Highest MPI Address: 31

PLC Address: 20

Transmission rate: 187,5 kbit/s

Settings provided from Vendor:

Highest MPI Address: 31

PLC Address: 20

Transmission rate: 187,5 kbit/s

@abrannon

If you click the destination node in the eWON (seen in the last image you sent) do you see any other nodes?

The vendor still can not see any connected devices?

I did not when it was set to MPI. I changed it to Profibus and now I see the nodes. But they still say they can not access node 20.

@abrannon

Have they configured Netpro with the correct path?

At this point it would be preferable if you or they could give a
call into support so we can diagnose it. Unfortunately in a profibus
connection there are a few different things that can go wrong.

The vendor is in Germany, is there a contact number for them?

@abrannon

Ah I was thinking they were US based.

I don’t have a number for Europe that I could give them though they could reach out here as well.

Edgar;

I have included you on tis ticket so you participate in the trouble shooting of this issue.

@abrannon ,

Is this still an issue? Please let me know if I can close this whenever you have a moment.

It is but the vendor is not willing to work through the issue. So, this ticket can be closed.

Sounds good.

I will close this out for now.
