Using 4G North America Modem card outside North America

A few years ago we shipped a machine with a 3G modem card overseas (outside North America) and the end user installed a local SIM card. We changed the APN and a couple other settings related to the Internet Connection wizard and the eWON reestablished connectivity without issue.

This weekend we tried the same steps on a machine shipped to the Middle East with a 4G North America modem card (FLB-3205), but without success. Does the 4G technology require a different modem card depending on which area in the world it is used?

It depends on the frequency bands in use by local cellular providers, but yes, generally you’ll need a region-specific modem card. What country is the device going to be in, and which cellular provider are you using? I would guess you need the 4G Europe modem (FLB320A) but I can check to make sure it supports the required frequencies.
