I have a site that would like sync the time of their PLC with a Time server to insure their processes run on the proper schedule. Since the PLC is behind an ewon can we use the Ewon to pass the request or can the ewon server as a Time server?
“My control system runs a 5 day a week schedule automatically if selected. What I need to do is to keep the time and date current throughout the control system in order to have the schedule run precisely. The PLC has a real time clock with battery backup but of course, it never keeps really good time but I have an instruction in my programming software that will update the CPU time using a time server (SNTP). I want to get an eWon and we will probably go with that so would it be possible for this to work with SNTP as well to update time on the PLC CPU?”
