WLC doesn't recognize a device behind the Anybus Wireless bolt ethernet port

Dear All,

Cisco WLC doesn’t recognize a PLC Controller behind the Anybus Wireless bolt Ethernet port. When I checked the ARP table, I can only see the Anybus Wireless bolt IP and MAC address but not the device behind the ethernet port.

It looks like the controller cannot forward the ARP info into the network through the Anybus Wireless bolt.

Please help. Thank you.

The Bolt can be configured in a number of ways, including acting as the network adapter for the PLC, in which case what you are seeing is expected because the Bolt and PLC have one MAC address. Please refer to the configuration examples in the setup guide to find the best option for your case: https://cdn.hms-networks.com/docs/librariesprovider7/default-document-library/manuals-design-guides/hms-scm-1202-088.pdf?sfvrsn=1d7e67d7_16#pdflink-1e06d07

Thank you for the reply. How about if the network doesn’t allow a single MAC address with multiple IP addresses(One for the bolt and the other is for the machine in the Ethernet port). Is there any workaround on this issue so that the network can recognize the machine behind the bolt Ethernet port?

Yes, in that case you would want to use Example A4 so both devices have their own IP address and MAC address on the network.
